Bet365 Pulls out of Poland

Bad news for bettors in Poland as sports betting and casino giant Bet365 pull out of the country. Due to legislation changes in the country, many big bookies are pulling out this month including UK giant William hill. What this means for players in the country is they are no longer able to place any more wagers on the site or make deposit (this applies to all areas including sports, casinos, games, vegas etc).

If you are an existing customer then you will have until the end of this month to withdraw any money in your account to your bank/debit cards etc. If you fail to do so before the deadline then you can still contact support to obtain access to your funds.

Affiliates and advertising partners of both sites have been contacted and urged to take down banners and advertising material that targets polish users.

The reason for the exit comes as the polish government approved changes to legislation in December 2016 which saw an increase on the operator tax of 12% on wagers.

Whether or not bet365 will re-enter the market remains to be seen. This is seemingly up to the polish government to see if they will make reasonable changes to their gambling laws which will make it profitable for bookmakers to operate in the region. Bet365 is known for offering it’s services to many countries throughout the world so hopefully, they can come to an agreement in the future. But for now their will be no more polish gambling activities on bet365 or william hill.

Other major bookmakers are expected to fully suit soon.
